CPE (chlorinated polyethylene material) generally refers to chlorinated polyethylene, which is a saturated polymer material. It is white powder in appearance, non-toxic and tasteless. It has excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, chemical resistance and aging resistance, as well as good oil resistance, flame retardancy and coloring performance. Good toughness (still flexible at - 30 ℃), good compatibility with other polymer materials and high decomposition temperature.

According to different structures and uses, chlorinated polyethylene can be divided into resin chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) and elastic chlorinated polyethylene (CM). In addition to being used alone, thermoplastic resin can also be blended with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), ABS and even polyurethane (PU).

Chlorinated polyethylene has been widely used in cable, wire, hose, tape, rubber and plastic products, sealing materials, flame retardant conveyor belt, waterproof coiled material, film and various special-shaped materials. CPE can also be blended with polypropylene, high and low pressure polyethylene and ABS to improve the flame retardancy, aging resistance and printing performance of these plastics.

CPE can be regarded as a random copolymer of ethylene, polyethylene and 1.2-dichloroethylene. Its molecular chain is saturated and the polar chlorine atoms are randomly distributed. Because of its excellent physical and chemical properties, CPE is widely used in machinery, electric power, chemical industry, building materials and mining industry.

CPE has better heat resistance, ozone resistance, weather resistance and aging resistance than most rubber, better oil resistance than NBR and Cr, and better aging resistance than chlorosulfonated vinyl chloride (CSM); Acid, alkali, salt and other corrosive properties, non-toxic, flame retardant and no explosion hazard.

2、 History

In the 1960s, Hoechst company of Germany first successfully developed and realized industrial production. Chlorinated polyethylene has been developed in China since the late 1970s. The "water phase suspension synthesis CPE technology" was first developed by Anhui Chemical Research Institute, and 500 ~ 1000t / a production units of different scales were successively built in Wuhu, Anhui, Taicang, Jiangsu and Weifang, Shandong.

3、 Characteristics

1) CPE is a kind of saturated rubber with excellent properties of heat and oxygen aging, ozone aging, acid and alkali resistance and chemicals.

2) CPE has average oil resistance, among which the resistance to ASTM No. 1 oil and ASTM No. 2 oil is excellent, which is equivalent to NBR; The resistance to ASTM No. 3 oil is excellent, better than Cr and equivalent to CSM.

3) CPE contains chlorine, which has excellent flame retardancy and anti dripping characteristics. Flame retardant materials with excellent flame retardancy and low cost can be obtained by mixing them with antimony flame retardant, chlorinated paraffin and Al (OH) 3.

4) CPE is non-toxic and does not contain heavy metals and PAHs. It fully meets the requirements of environmental protection.

5) CPE has high filling performance and can produce products that meet various performance requirements. CPE has good processability. Mooney viscosity (ml121 1 + 4) is between 50-100. There are many brands to choose from.
